Always In Our Thoughts, Forever in our Hearts Grief Book

Michele and Greg Mistler participated in the creation of the book "Always in our Thoughts, Forever in Our Hearts".

This book was created to help those who have experienced the grief of losing a child find solace, peace and comfort, and also to provide help

to the family and of those who have lost a child. Members of Ryle High School’s Future Business Leaders of America helped in compiling this book. Free copies of this book are available.

Please contact Michele or Greg if you would like a book.

Supporting Emerging

The Andrew Mistler Foundation was founded to support a Visual Art Scholarship Fund in memory of Andrew Mistler. Our mission is to provide scholarship opportunities to young artists, and support community services and programs dedicated to the health and education of young adults.

Madeline Brandel AMF Scholarship Co-Recipient

To date, the Andrew Mistler Foundation has been able to award 23 scholarships, purchase painting, photographic, and sculpting equipment, and a Smart Board Interactive Whiteboard for the Art Department at Dixie Heights High School. We have also sponsored awards for the annual State Art Competition, and provided funds for special art projects at Dixie Heights, including The Memory Project.

Donations have also been made to The Children’s Home of Northern Kentucky, The Brighton Center’s Homeward Bound Shelter (emergency shelter for homeless and runaway youth), the St. Joseph Elementary School computer fund, Transitions, Rob's Kids, Healthy Newborn Project, Art Machine Inc. and STARS Grief Support for Children. We also co-sponsored COPE (Circle Of Parents Enduring), a grief support conference for parents who have lost a child.

Special Thanks
A very special thanks goes out to Laura Sams. Laura is the owner of the art gallery and graciously donates the use of this incredible venue to The Andrew Mistler Foundation each year. Laura and a dedicated group of art lovers transformed an automobile repair shop into this unique art gallery with a beautiful garden. Laura is also a graduate of Dixie Heights High School. We thank you Laura for your continuing support of The Andrew Mistler Foundation and the young artists.

Pictured here is the Art Gallery at Dixie Heights High School. As part of their studies, art students at Dixie have the opportunity to run the gallery, including creating and designing exhibits. In addition to gallery administration, some of the skills they learn are matting, framing, and hanging artwork.
